ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੋਈ = ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ। ਈਹਾ ਜਗਿ = ਇਥੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨਿ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੋਈ = ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਬਿਧਿ = ਜੁਗਤਿ। ਤਾ ਕੀ = ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ। ਰੀਤਿ = ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਾ, ਸੋਨਾ, ਲਾਲ, ਹੀਰੇ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ-

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੁਕਤਿ = {मौक्‍ितक} ਮੋਤੀ। ਕਨਿਕ = ਸੋਨਾ। ਮਨ ਰੰਜਨ ਕੀ = ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ।

ਹਾ ਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਵਧਹਿ; ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ. ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

haa haa karat bihaanee avadheh; taa meh santokh. na paaeaa |2|

Sant Singh KhalsaPossessing them, one passes his life in agony; he obtains no contentment from them. ||2||

Fareedkot Teeka(ਹਾਹਾ) ਹਾਇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਵਾ ਅਹੰਮਮ ਕਰਤਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਜੀਵ ਕੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬੀਤ ਗਈ, ਇਸ ਬਿਭੂਤੀ ਮੇਂ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਾ ਭਇਆ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਲੱਗਿਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ 'ਹਾਇ, ਹਾਇ' ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦਾ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ = ਬੀਤ ਗਈ। ਅਵਧਹਿ = ਉਮਰ। ਤਾ ਮਹਿ = ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਸੰਤੋਖੁ = ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਰੱਜ ॥੨॥

Fareedkot Teekaਪੁਨਾ ਹਸਤੀ ਔ ਰਥ, ਪਵਨ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਬੇਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇਜ ਘੋੜੇ ਔ ਇਨ ਕਾ ਧਨੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। (ਭੂ) ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ (ਮਨ) ਮਣੀਆ ਭੀ ਹੋਵੈ, (ਚਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ) ਚਾਰ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਹੋਵੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਏਤੀ ਬਿਭੂਤੀ ਯਦਪੀ ਹੋਵੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਾਥੀ, ਰਥ, ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਘੋੜੇ (ਹੋਣ), ਧਨਾਢ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ, ਚਾਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ-

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਸਤਿ = ਹਾਥੀ। ਅਸ੍ਵ = ਘੋੜੇ। ਪਵਨ ਤੇਜ = ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਗ ਵਾਲੇ। ਧਣੀ = ਧਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ। ਭੂਮਨ = ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ। ਚਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ = ਚਾਰ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ: ਹਾਥੀ, ਰਥ, ਘੋੜੇ, ਪੈਦਲ।

ਸੰਗਿ. ਨ ਚਾਲਿਓ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਛੂਐ; ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ਨਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥

sang. na chaalio in meh kachhooai; aootth sidhaaeo naangaa |3|

Sant Singh Khalsa- none of these will go with him; he must get up and depart, naked. ||3||

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਭੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਥੋਂ) ਨੰਗਾ ਹੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਗਿ = ਨਾਲ। ਕਛੂਐ = ਕੁਝ ਭੀ। ਸਿਧਾਇਓ = ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ ॥੩॥

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ. ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ; ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥

har ke sant. pria preetam prabh ke; taa kai har har gaaeeai |

Sant Singh KhalsaThe Lord's Saints are the beloved lovers of God; sing of the Lord, Har, Har, with them.
Manmohan SinghGod's saints are the dear beloved of the Lord. In their company, sing Thou the Lord God's praise.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਿਲਬਰ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਈਹਾ = ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਆਗੈ = ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਊਜਲ = ਰੌਸ਼ਨ। ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ = ਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ॥੪॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਾਣ, ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਅ = ਜਿੰਦ। ਸਭੁ = ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ। ਅਰਪਉ = ਅਪਰਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਅਰਪਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਨੀਰਉ = ਨੇੜੇ। ਪੇਖਿ = ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਡ = ਵੱਡਾ। ਮਨਹਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਗਹੀਰਉ = ਮੈਂ ਗਹਿ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਾਹਉ = ਚਾਹਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ = ਉਹੀ ਉਹੀ ਚੀਜ਼। ਪਾਵਉ = ਪਾਵਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮਨਸਾ = {मनीषा} ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ। ਪੂਰਉ = ਪੂਰਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਥਾਨਿ = ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਥਨੰਤਰਿ = ਥਾਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ, ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਥਾਨਿ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ = ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਜਾਈ = ਜਾਈਂ, ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ।

Sant Singh KhalsaOne who finds the Society of the Saints, O Nanak, is not consigned to reincarnation again. ||2||3||4||
