Prof. Sahib Singhਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਇਹੀ) ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਵਧਦੀ ਜਾਏ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧੀ ਕੰਮੀ = ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅੰਧ = ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ, ਹਨੇਰਾ। ਸਜਾਇ = ਦੰਡ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮੂਰਖ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੂਰਤੀ) ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ (ਭੁੱਖ-ਮਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮਰਨੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨ ਦੇਇ = ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ। ਰਖੈ = ਬਚਾਂਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੋਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਕਲਮ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹੁਕਮਿ = ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ। ਕਲਾਮ = (ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ) ਕਲਮ। ਕਰਮੀ = (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ। ਵਹੈ = ਚੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਪਰਮੇਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਉਸ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਭੀ ਸਚੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਰੂਪੀ ਸਭਾ ਭੀ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਔਰ (ਦੀਬਾਨੁ) ਆਸਰਾ ਭੀ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥☬ਨਾਮ ਮਨਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ੳ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਤਪ ਸਾਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਭਜਨ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਗਿਆਨ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਅਕਲਾਂ ਦੁੜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਹਕੂਮਤਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਵਧੀਆ ਖਾਣੇ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਧੀਆਂ ਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ-ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਅ-ਜੰਤ ਵਖੋ-ਵਖ ਆਹਰੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਵਖੋ-ਵਖ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ, ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ = ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ। ਦੀਬਾਨੁ = ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ = (ਪੂਰਬ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਰਦੰਤਕ, Locative Absolute) ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਏ, ਜੇ ਇਹ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਏ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਏ, ਜੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਏ। ਗਤਿ = ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ = (ਪੂਰਬ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਰਦੰਤਕ) ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ। ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ = ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ 'ਪਰਗਟ ਪੰਥ' ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ = (ਅੱਖਰ 'ਨ' ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਅੱਧਾ 'ਹ' ਹੈ)। ਸੋਈ = ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ॥੯॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਿਰਿ = ਸਿਰ-ਪਰਨੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ। ਇਕ ਪੈਰਿ = ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ। ਧਿਆਏ = ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਸਿਅਹੁ = ਇਕ ਚਸੇ ਤੋਂ। ਚਸਿਅਹੁ ਚੁਖ ਬਿੰਦ = ਇਕ ਚਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ। ਉਪਰਿ = ਵਧੀਕ। ਦੋਸੁ = ਭੁੱਲ, ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਸਨ = ਜੀਭ। ਰਸਾਇਆ = ਰਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
