Prof. Sahib Singhਹਵਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਅੱਗ (ਆਦਿਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਜੀਵ ਬਣਾਇਆ, (ਤੱਤ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਚਰਜ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ (ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਉਣੈ = ਪਉਣ ਦਾ, ਹਵਾ ਦਾ। ਜੀਉ = ਜੀਵ। ਤਿਨ = ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ। ਕਿਆ = ਕੀਹ? ਕਿਆ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਪੀੜ = ਕੀਹ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਕੀਹ ਦੁੱਖ? (ਭਾਵ, ਜੇ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਲ ਵੇਖੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ, ਫਿਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਿਉਂ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਹਨ?)

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਕਾਸੀ = ਆਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ, (ਭਾਵ,) ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਕਿ = ਕਈ ਬੰਦੇ। ਦਰਿ = (ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਦਰ ਤੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
