ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਹਣੁ = ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ। ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ = ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ। ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ = ਦੈਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਦੇਵਾ = ਦੇਵਤੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ = ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ। ਕਰਿ = ਕਰ ਕੇ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ) ਵੇਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਵਤ = ਜੀਊਂਦੇ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਪੇਖੇ = ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੀਸੈ = ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੋ = ਉਸ ਨੂੰ। ਕਾਲਹਿ = ਕਾਲ ਨੇ। ਖਰਨਾ = ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ = (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ। ਦਾਨੁ = ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ। ਇਸਨਾਨੁ = ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਚਰਨ। ਸੁਚਾਰੀ = ਚੰਗੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ॥੩॥
