ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਆਪਣਾ; ਸੋ ਸਿਰੁ ਲੇਖੈ ਲਾਇ ॥

satigur seve aapanaa; so sir lekhai laae |

Sant Singh KhalsaThose who serve their True Guru are certified and accepted.
Manmohan SinghThe heads (men) who serve their True Guru, becomes fruitful.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੀਸ (ਇਨਸਾਨ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਕਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੋ ਸੇਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੀਸ ਕੋ ਲੇਖੇ ਲਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹਿ ਕਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ) ਸਫਲਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲੇਖੈ ਲਾਇ = ਸਫਲਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਕੁਝ (ਚੰਗਾ ਮੰਦਾ) ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

man vekaaree verriaa; vekaaraa karam kamaae |

Sant Singh KhalsaWith the mind encircled by wickedness and evil, people do evil deeds.

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸ ਪੂਜਾ ਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਜ਼ਾ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teeka(ਆਤਮ) ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ (ਦੇਉ) ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਰੂਪ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਸਮਾਦਿ ਪੁਸਪੋਂ ਸੇ ਕਰੀਏ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜਤੀ ਹੈ। ਜਪ ਤਪ ਆਦਿਕੋਂ ਸਹਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਬ ਆਤਮ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਹੈ, ਔਰ ਫਲੀਭੂਤ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ॥☬ਤਿਸ ਪਰ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜਪ ਤਪੁ (ਸੰਜਮੁ) ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਜੀਤਨੇ ਵਾ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ, ਸਮਾਧੀ, ਸਬਰ, ਇਸੀ ਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ (ਭਾਣਾ) ਹੁਕਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਸੋ ਹੁਕਮ ਮਾਨਣਾ (ਕਰਮੀ) ਉੱਤਮ ਭਾਗੋਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ ਰੂਪੀ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਮੇਂ ਪੜਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ (ਮੰਨਣਾ)-ਇਹੀ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਤੇ ਸੰਜਮ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ (ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਮੀ = ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ। ਪਲੇ ਪਾਇ = ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

SikhNet (Spanish)Toda meditación, toda penitencia, toda continencia, está en aceptar la Voluntad de Dios, pero es sólo a través de la Gracia del Señor que esta sabiduría es compartida.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ; ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ. ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥

naanak sevaa surat kamaavanee; jo har bhaavai. so thaae paae |2|

Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, serve with this intuitive awareness; only that which is pleasing to the Lord is approved. ||2||
Manmohan SinghNanak, attentively perform the service of the Lord but that service alone shall be approved which God Likes.

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਜੋ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਉਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਸੇਵਾ ਭੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਸੁਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਹੀ) ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਗਉਤੀ = ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਜੋ ਨੱਚਣ ਕੁੱਦਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜ = ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੋ 'ਲਗਾਂ' ਵਿਚੋਂ ਏਥੇ (ੁ) ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ ('ਜੁ')। ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੜਿ = ਕੜੇ, ਕੜ੍ਹਦੇ, (ਵੇਖੋ, ਪਉੜੀ ਨੰ: ੧ 'ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰਿ', ਤਰਿ = ਤਰੇ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ। ਸਵਾਹੀ = ਸਬਾਹੀ, ਸੁਬਹ, ਸਵੇਰੇ (ਨੋਟ: ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ 'ਸੁਆਹ' ਕਰਨਾ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ 'ਜੋੜ' ਨਹੀਂ ਰਲਦਾ, ਵੇਖੋ ਆਸਾ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਚ "ਤਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਆਹ।" 'ਕੜਿਨ' ਪਾਠ ਭੀ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ "ਕੜਨਿ" ਹੁੰਦਾ)।
