ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ. ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ; ਜਿਨਿ. ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥

tis gur kau. sad balihaaranai; jin. har sevaa banat banaaee |

Sant Singh KhalsaI am forever a sacrifice to that Guru, who has led me to serve the Lord.
Manmohan SinghI am ever devoted unto that Guru, who has designed to engage me in God's service.

Prof. Sahib Singhਦੁਨੀਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਾੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਸੜ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਇਹ ਠੰਡ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਨਾਹ ਸੜੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੀਤਲੁ = ਠੰਡ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ।

naanak. vin naavai, nirbhau ko nahee; jichar sabad. na kare veechaar |1|

Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, without the Name, and without contemplating the Word of the Shabad, no one becomes fearless. ||1||

Sant Singh KhalsaDestroying the snake's hole, the snake is not killed; it is just like doing deeds without a Guru.

Fareedkot Teeka(ਵਰਮੀ) ਜਿਸ ਬਿਲ ਮੇਂ ਸਾਂਪ ਰਹਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਨੇ ਸੇ ਸਾਂਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਨਿਰਗੁਣੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਭਾਵ ਯਹ ਕਿ ਦੇਹ ਬਰਮੀ ਕੋ ਤਪ ਕਰ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਣੇ ਸੇ ਮਨ ਸਰਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਤਾ, ਜਬ ਤਕ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸੇ ਸਰਪ ਮਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੱਪ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਡ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸੱਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ) ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
