Sant Singh KhalsaThey inflict their hatred upon the Saints, and they love the wicked sinners.

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਘੜੀ ਮੁੜੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ = ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਲ, ਮਨੋਂ ਚਿਤੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਨਾਲ।

ਸੇਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਦੇ; ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਹੀ ॥

seee purakh har sevade; jin dhur masatak lekh likhaahee |

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ) ਲੇਖ ਉੱਕਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ।

Sant Singh KhalsaThey continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and singing the Glories of the Glorious Lord, they are uplifted.
Manmohan SinghThey chant ever the God's glories, and, singing the praise of the meritorious Lord, instruct their mind.

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Sant Singh KhalsaIt is very difficult to serve the True Guru; offer your head, and eradicate self-conceit.
Manmohan SinghHard is the service of the True Guru, as the devotee has to surrender his head and efface his ownself.

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਬੜੀ ਔਖੀ ਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਸਿਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਾ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ (ਸੇਵਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ)।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਕੀਆਂ ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ ਰਖਤਾ ਹੋਵੈ, ਭਾਵ ਜੋ ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪ ਜਨਾਵੈ, ਸੋ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰੀ ਕੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਬਖਸੇ, ਭਾਵ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਸੇ ਬਚਾਇ ਲੇਵੇ ਸੋਈ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਕੋ ਪਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾ ਕਰਮੋਂ ਕੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰੀ ਕੌ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਆਪ ਬਖਸੇ ਸੋਈ ਥਾਇ ਪੜਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਸੇ- ਸੁਗ੍ਰੀਵ, ਵਿਭੀਖਨ ਆਦਿਕੋਂ ਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਣੇ ਹੈਂ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿੰਦੈ = ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮਤੁ = ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਲੱਛਣ। ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ = ਕੇਵਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੀਤਲੁ = ਠੰਡੇ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤ, ਸੰਤੋਖੀ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ।
