ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਚਾਰਾ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾ ਬਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥

kahaa karai koee bechaaraa; prabh mere kaa badd parataap |1|

Sant Singh KhalsaWhat can any wretched creature do to me? The radiance of my God is gloriously great. ||1||
Manmohan SinghWhat can any poor man do unto me, as great is the glory of my Lord.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਕੋਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਣਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ = ਕੀਹ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਪਰਤਾਪੁ = ਤਾਕਤ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਖੁ = ਟੇਕ, ਆਸਰਾ। ਮਾਹੀ = ਮਾਹਿ, ਵਿਚ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਪਨੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਂ (ਜਰਾ) ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਕਾ ਔ (ਮਰਾ) ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੋਣੇ ਕਾ ਰੰਚਕ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਭੀ ਭੈ ਔ ਦੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਿਆਪੇਗਾ, ਭਾਵ ਦੇਹ ਸੇ ਆਪ ਕੋ ਅਸੰਗ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਰਾ ਆਦਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੇਂ ਹੈ; ਵਾ ਜਨਮ ਕੋ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਾਰਤਾ ਹੈ। ਆਗੇ ਦਰਗਾਹਿ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਸਭ ਕਾਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਬੁਢੇਪਾ, ਮੌਤ ਜਾਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਕੁੱਝ ਭੀ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਰਾ = ਬੁਢੇਪਾ। ਮਰਾ = ਮੌਤ। ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ = ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਆਗੈ = ਅਗਾਂਹ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਪਰੀਐ ਨਿਤ ਸਰਨੀ; ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਇਹ (ਨਾਮ-) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ। ਪਰੀਐ = ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ। ਨਿਧਾਨੁ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ (ਭੀ) ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਟੀਐ = ਕੱਟ ਸਕੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨੀਸਾਨੁ = ਰਾਹਦਾਰੀ, ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੧॥

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਜਾਣ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਮੇਟ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਭਲਾ ਸਮਝਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਵਾਂਗਾ, (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਨਉ = ਮਾਨਉਂ, ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮਨ ਤੇ = ਮਨ ਤੋਂ। ਛੂਟੈ = ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਮਾਨੁ = ਅਹੰਕਾਰ।

Fareedkot Teekaਪਾਪੋਂ ਕੋ ਨਿਵਿਰਤ ਕਰਨੇ ਕੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ (ਪੁਨਹਚਰਨ) ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਹੈਂ, ਜੈਸੇ- ਕੋਈ ਬ੍ਰਤੋਂ ਕਰ, ਕੋਈ ਯੱਗੋਂ ਕਰ, ਕੋਈ ਤੀਰਥੋਂ ਕਰ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਰਤ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਸਭ ਮੈਂਨੇ ਕੀਏ ਹੈਂ। ਸੋ ਕਿਆ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕੀਏ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਯਹਿ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਧਿਆਵਣੇ ਸੇ ਸਰਬ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਮਿਟਾਣ ਲਈ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਲਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੇਤੇ = ਜਿਤਨੇ ਹੀ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ। ਪੁਨਹ ਚਰਨ = ਪ੍ਰਾਸ਼ਚਿਤ-ਕਰਮ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਵਿਰਤੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮ। ਸੇ = {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ} ਉਹ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਤਨਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਗਹੇ = ਫੜ ਲਏ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਤਾਂ ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ) ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
