ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ; ਆਨੇਰੁ ਬਿਨਾਸਣਿ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਨੇਰਾ (ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਨਣ (ਭੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਟਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਬਿਨਾਸਣਿ = ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਭ = ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ। ਵਣਿ = ਵਣ ਵਿਚ। ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ = ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਵਿਚ।

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਣਿ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਬਣਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਭਿਆਗਤ ਏਹਿ. ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ; ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਭਰਮੁ ॥

abhiaagat ehi. na aakheean; jin ke chit meh bharam |

Sant Singh KhalsaHe is not called a renunciate, whose consciousness is filled with doubt.

Fareedkot Teekaਕੋਈ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਅਭਿਆਗਤੀ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਆਇਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਾ ਕੀਆ। ਕਹਾ: ਸਭ ਕਾ ਹਾਥੁ ਲਾਗਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਅਭ੍ਯਾਗਤ ਏਹੁ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹੀਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਭਰਮ ਹੋਵੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਦਰ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਆਟਾ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਫਿਰਨ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 'ਅਭਿਆਗਤ' ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ;

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਭਿਆਗਤ = (ਸੰ: अभ्यागत a guest, a visitor, ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਾ, ਪਰਦੇਸੀ) ਓਪਰਾ ਸੁਆਲੀ, ਫ਼ਕੀਰ, ਮੰਗਤਾ, ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ। ਭਰਮੁ = ਭਟਕਣਾ। ਏਹਿ = ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਆਖੀਅਨਿ = ਆਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਵੇਖੋ 'ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਆਕਰਣ')।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਦੇਨ ਸੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤੋਹੇ ਜੇਹਾ ਹੀ ਧਰਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਜੈਸੇ ਉਸ ਮੇਂ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਹੈ, ਤੈਸੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੀ ਫਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅਜੇਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ ਪੁੰਨ ਭੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਪੁੰਨ-ਕਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧਰਮੁ = ਪੁੰਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਾ। ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ 'ਪਰਮ ਪਦ' ਦਾ ਅਭਿਲਾਖੀ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਭੈ = ਭਉ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ। ਭੂਖਾ = ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਉਦਰੈ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਆਪਣੇ; ਬਹਲੇ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਨ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤਰੀਵ ਆਤਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜੋ ਅਕਸ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਭਿਖ੍ਯਾ ਅਰਥ ਗ੍ਰਹਸਤੀ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਮੇਂ ਅੰਨ ਲੈਣੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆ ਜਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਅਭ੍ਯਾਗਤ ਕਹੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਭਿਆਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੌ ਏਹ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਆਤਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਮੇਂ ਗਵਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! 'ਅਭਿਆਗਤ' ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੰਡਲ ਦੀ ਸੈਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਜੱ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਬਰੁ = ਆਕਾਸ਼। ਵਿਛੋੜਿਅਨੁ = ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਹਨ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ। ਸਚਾ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਅਸਰਾਉ = ਅਸਰਾਜੁ, ਸ੍ਵਰਾਜੁ, ਆਪਣਾ ਹੁਕਮ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰੈਣਾਇਰ = {संः रय-नार। रय (ਰਯ) = ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਵਹਣ। नार (ਨਾਰ) = ਜਲ} ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਲ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ। ਕੂੜੀ = ਕੂੜ (ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭੈ ਪਇਐ = ਜੇ ਭਉ ਵਿਚ ਰਹੀਏ। ਖੀਣੁ = ਲਿੱਸਾ (ਭਾਵ) ਨਰਮ-ਦਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਹੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੇੜਦਾ।
