ਪਾਪ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਨੂਰ ਸਭਿ; ਲਦੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

paap bikaar manoor sabh; lade bahu bhaaree |

Sant Singh KhalsaTheir sin and corruption are like rusty slag; they carry such a heavy load.
Manmohan SinghThe sins and misdeeds are like the iron-dross. He has loaded the very heavy load of them all.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਕਸਮਲ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਭਾਰ ਬੋਝ ਲੱਦਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨੂਰ = ਸੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੋਹਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ਭਾਰ)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਬੜਾ ਔਖਾ ਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਰਗੁ = ਰਸਤਾ, ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ। ਬਿਖਮੁ = ਔਖਾ।

Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, those whom the Guru protects are saved. They are saved in the Name of the Lord. ||27||

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਹੈਂ ਸੇ (ਉਬਰੇ) ਬਚੇ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਰ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਸੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਭਗਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਪੰਕਤੀ ਉਧਾਰੀ ਹੈ॥੨੭॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੭॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਉਬਰੇ = ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੇ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਨੇ। ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ = ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੭॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਐਸੀ) ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਰੱਬ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸੁਰਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਬਥੇਰੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਠਗਉਲੀ = ਠਗ-ਮੂਰੀ, ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ, ਉਹ ਬੂਟੀ ਜੋ ਠੱਗ ਕਿਸੇ ਓਭੜ ਨੂੰ ਖਵਾ ਕੇ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਾਈਅਨੁ = ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ। ਬਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰ = ਕਈ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮ। ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ।

Sant Singh KhalsaSome are saved, by Guru's Grace. Everyone humbly bows before such humble beings.

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਕਈ (ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਜੋ ਜੋ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਕਿ = ਕਈ ਬੰਦੇ (ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਇਕ' ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਉਬਰੇ = ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ। ਕਰਹਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ = ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ, ਜਿਸ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ (ਇਸ 'ਮੋਹ-ਠਗਉਲੀ' ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਣ ਦਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗਾ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼। ਅੰਤਰਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ (ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ। ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ = (ਮੋਹ-ਠਗਉਲੀ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਣ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ। ਸਚੁ = ਅਟੱਲ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ।

SikhNet (Spanish)Por el enamoramiento a Maya uno se olvida de la Verdad, de la muerte y del Nombre del Señor,

ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤਿਆ. ਜਨਮੁ ਗਇਆ; ਅੰਦਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਾਮੁ ॥

dhandhaa karatiaa. janam geaa; andar dukh sahaam |

Sant Singh KhalsaEngaged in worldly affairs, his life wastes away; deep within himself, he suffers in pain.
Manmohan SinghDoing worldly affairs his life passes away and within him he endures pain.

Fareedkot Teekaਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤਿਆਂ ਕਰਤਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀਓਂ ਕਾ ਜਨਮ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੁਖੋਂ ਕੋ (ਸਹਾਮੁ) ਸਹਾਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਧੰਧੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਦਰਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਸਹਾਮੁ = ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਜਿਨੑ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਰਾਮੁ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਗੁਰ-ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੇਵਿ = ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ। ਪੂਰਬਿ = ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ। ਕਰਾਮੁ = ਕਰਮ, ਕੰਮ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ)। ਸੁਖੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨੁ = ਮੰਗਤਾ (ਮੈਂ ਮੰਗਤਾ)। ਜਾਚੈ = ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਾਨੁ = ਖ਼ੈਰ। ਹਰਿ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਸ੍ਵੈ ਭਾਇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁੱਬ ਨਾਲ, ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਰਸਨਿ = ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ। ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇ = ਰੱਜ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੁਥਾਉ = ਮੰਦਾ ਥਾਂ। ਓਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ, ਜਾਣਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ = (ਅੱਖਰ 'ਨ' ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਧਾ 'ਹ' ਹੈ)। ਚਿਤਵਹਿ = ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਰਗਹ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ। ਹੋਹਿ = ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੋਹਿ ਕੂੜਿਆਰ = ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਖੀਐ = ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸਭੁ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ। ਵਰਤੈ = ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਸਚਿਆਰੁ = ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਰਮਿ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ। ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ = ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ = ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗਿਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਵ = ਉਮਰ। ਬੇਤਾਲਿਆ = ਭੂਤਨੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ, ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਤੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ। ਸਾਸ = ਸਾਹ (ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਜੀਵਨ ਕਉ = ਜੀਊਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ।
