ਅਮਰੁ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਹੈ; ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ. ਨ ਚਲਈ; ਨ ਹੁਜਤਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ॥

amar veparavaahu hai; tis naal siaanap. na chalee; na hujat karanee jaae |

Sant Singh KhalsaThe Order of the Lord is beyond challenge. Clever tricks and arguments will not work against it.
Manmohan SinghThe order of the Care-free Lord is above all, With Him cleverness avails not, nor can one cavil with Him.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਤੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲਾਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁਗਦੀ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਢੁਚਰਬਾਜੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ, ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦੀ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅੱਗੇ) ਕੋਈ ਦਲੀਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ;

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਮਰੁ = ਅ-ਮਰੁ, ਅਟੱਲ। ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ = ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ। ਹੁਜਤਿ = ਦਲੀਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ। ਰਜਾਇ = ਭਾਣਾ।

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ. ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ, ਨ ਲਗਈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਤਾਹੀਏਂ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਕੋਈ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਚਿ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ) ਲੋਭ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ;

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵਿਆਪੇ = ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਹੋਏ, ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ। ਫੇਰੀ = ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੈੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ), ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪ ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਣਾ (-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ) ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ = ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ।
