parathaae saakhee mahaa purakh bolade; saajhee sagal jahaanai |

Sant Singh KhalsaGreat men speak the teachings by relating them to individual situations, but the whole world shares in them.
Manmohan SinghGreat men utter instruction apropos some spiritual motive, but the whole world becomes a partner therein.

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਕਿਸੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਕੇ ਪਰਥਾਇ ਸਾਖੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਪਰੰਤੂ ਵਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰੂਪ ਸਾਖੀ ਸਭ ਜਹਾਨ ਕੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਲਈ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਬਾਹਰ ਭਟਕਣੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।

Sant Singh KhalsaThose who do not focus their consciousness on the Lord, as Gurmukh, suffer pain and grief in the end.
Manmohan SinghThey, who fix not their mind on God, through the Guru, are overtaken by grief in the end.

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ;

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,

Sant Singh KhalsaO Pandit, O religious scholar, no one is satisfied, and no one finds true wealth through the love of duality.
Manmohan SinghO Pandit, through duality, satisfaction is not possible, nor is the Lord's wealth obtained.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਹੇ ਪੰਡਤ! ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਹਿਰ ਬਹਿਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ) ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਧਦਾ-ਫੁਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ;

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਭਾਵੇਂ ਭੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਸੜਦੇ ਕੁੜਦੇ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਪੜ ਪੜ ਕੇ ਥਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੈਂ ਔਰੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਦਿਨੇਂ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨੀ ਸੇ ਜਲਤਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਆਯੂ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਉਮਰ) ਸੜਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੀ ਹੈ;
SikhNet (Spanish)uno no gana las riquezas del Señor así. Aquél que lee, pero no está contenido en su ser, se consume siempre en su fuego interior.

ਕੂਕ ਪੂਕਾਰ. ਨ ਚੁਕਈ; ਨਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਨ ਕੀ (ਕੂਕ) ਊਚੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਤੀ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਦੁਖ ਔਰੋਂ ਪਾਸ ਪੁਕਾਰਤੇ ਰਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਔ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਬੀਚ ਸੇਂ ਸੰਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਲਾ-ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੂਕ ਪੂਕਾਰ = ਰੋਣਾ-ਚੀਕਣਾ, ਗਿਲੇ-ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ। ਸੰਸਾ = ਤੌਖ਼ਲਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਇਸ ਮੈਲ ਦਾ) ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ) ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਆਗੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਖਿ ਕੇ (ਊਭੀ) ਖੜੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੀ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਸਹਾਰੇ॥
