janam janam kee is man kau mal laagee; kaalaa hoaa siaahu |

Fareedkot Teekaਜੈਸੇ (ਖੰਨਲੀ) ਤੇਲੀ ਕੀ ਲੀਰ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਤਾ ਔ ਖੰਨਲੀ ਕਹੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵਾਰ ਜਲ ਮੇਂ ਧੋਣਾ ਪਾਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਧੋਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਮੈਲ ਉਤਰਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥☬ਨਨੂ: ਤਿਸ ਖੰਨਲੀ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੇ ਤੋ ਕਿਸੀ ਕਾ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਸੁਧ ਹੂਆ ਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਏ, ਸੋ ਤੌ ਸੁਧ ਭੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ?☬ਉਤ੍ਰ: ਜੈਸੇ ਖੰਨਲੀ ਕੌ ਕੇਵਲ ਜਲ ਸੁਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਤਾ। ਸਜੀ ਆਦੀ ਮਸਾਲਾ ਪਾਣੀਂ ਮੇਂ ਤਪਾਇ ਕਰ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਚਿਕਨਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਸੁਧ ਕਰੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੈਸੇ ਇਹ ਭੀ ਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥☬ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ: ਸੋ ਮਨ ਸੁਧ ਕਰਨੇ ਕਾ ਮਸਾਲਾ ਕੌਨ ਹੈ?☬ਉਤਰ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਲੀ ਦੀ ਲੀਰ ਧੋਤਿਆਂ ਚਿੱਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸੌ ਵਾਰੀ ਧੋਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੋ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖੰਨਲੀ = ਤੇਲੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਹਲੂ ਵਿਚ ਫੇਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਲੀਰ। ਧੋਵਣਿ ਪਾਹੁ = ਧੋਣ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੋ।

Sant Singh KhalsaKali Yuga is called the Dark Age, but the most sublime state is attained in this age.
Manmohan SinghOf the four time-periods, 'Kali-age' is called the darkest, but the sublime status is attained in this very age.

Fareedkot Teekaਚਾਰੋ ਯੁਗੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਸੇ ਇਸ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕਾਲੀ ਕਹੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਕਲੀ ਮੇਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮੋਂ ਕੀ ਬਹੁਲਤਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਇਸ ਕਲਿਯੁਗ ਮੇਂ ਏਕ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਚਹੁੰ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਹੀ ਕਾਲਾ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ (ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀ) ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਪਦਵੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ (ਭਗਤੀ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਲਿਖ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ (-ਰੂਪ) ਫਲ (ਇਸੇ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਰਤਿ-ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ। ਲਿਖਿ-ਲਿਖ ਕੇ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ-ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼।

Prof. Sahib Singhਤੇ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

har har mel saadh jan sangat; mukh bolee har har bhalee baan |

Sant Singh KhalsaO Lord, unite me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, so that with my mouth, I may speak the sublime Word of the Guru's Bani.
Manmohan SinghO Lord God, unite me with the society of the pious persons, so that, with my mouth, I may utter the Lord's God's sublime word.

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮਿਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬੋਲੀ ਬੋਲਾਂ;

har gun gaavaa. har nit chavaa; guramatee har rang sadaa maan |

Sant Singh KhalsaI sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and constantly chant the Lord's Name; through the Guru's Teachings, I enjoy the Lord's Love constantly.
Manmohan SinghI ever sing God's praise and utter God's Name and, by Guru's instruction, ever do I enjoy the Lord's love.
