Sant Singh KhalsaLeaving the water, the fish cannot live; the rainbird cannot live without the raindrops from the clouds.

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਜੀਉਂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ, ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਲਗਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਪਪੀਹਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਊ ਸਕਦਾ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਿਅਕਤ = ਤਿਆਗਿਆਂ, ਛੱਡਿਆਂ। ਮੀਨ = ਮੱਛੀ। ਤਿਆਗਿ = ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ। ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ = ਪਪੀਹਾ। ਮੰਡਲ = ਹਲਕਾ, ਇਲਾਕਾ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਹਰਣ, ਘੰਡੇ-ਹੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਗ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਉਰਾ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੈਸੇ (ਕੁਰੰਗ) ਹਰਨ ਨਾਦ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਤਾ ਹੂਆ ਬਾਣੋ ਸੇ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਤਿਆਗਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਅਲਿ) ਭੌਰੇ ਫੂਲੋਂ ਕੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਲੇਤੇ ਬੰਧੇ ਜਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਤਿਆਗਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹਰਨ ਰਾਗ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਭੌਰੇ ਦੇ ਬੱਝਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬੇਧੰ = ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਚ = ਅਤੇ। ਕੁਰੰਕ = ਹਰਨ। ਨਾਦੰ = ਰਾਗ। ਅਲਿ = ਭੌਰਾ। ਕੁਸਮ = ਫੁੱਲ। ਬਾਸਨਹ = ਸੁਗੰਧੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਨ = ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ। ਰੁਚਤੇ = ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁਖ ਵੇਖ ਲਵਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਿੱਤ (ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ) ਨਾਹ ਜੋੜਾਂ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਡੇਖਾਊ = ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਾਂ। ਪਲਕ = ਅੱਖ ਫਰਕਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ। ਛਡਿ = ਛੱਡ ਕੇ। ਡੇਊ = ਮੈਂ ਦਿਆਂ।

Fareedkot Teekaਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤਿਸ ਧਨੀ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ (ਸੰਗਮੁ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਸਾਥ ਹੀ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਜਾਣਿਆਂ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਸੋ ਹਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
