ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੂਜੀ ਤਰਫ ਹੈ; ਵੇਖਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਰਫ = ਪਾਸਾ। ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ = ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਚੰਦਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ, ਕਾਮ ਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖੁਧਿਆ = ਭੁੱਖ। ਬੁਰੀ = ਭੈੜੀ, ਚੰਦਰੀ। ਵਿਕਰਾਲੁ = ਡਰਾਉਣਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ) ਸੰਤੋਖ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਖੁਧਿਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਿਟਦੀ ਹੈ) ਤੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ = ਘਰ ਦਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਇਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰ-ਪਉੜੀ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਭਾਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਇਕ ਦਰ (ਜੀਵ ਦਾ) ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ (ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਦੁਰਕਾਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ 'ਦਰ' ਤਕ ਅੱਪੜਨ ਲਈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਉੜੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ) ਇਕੋ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਧਰੁ = ਪੱਧਰਾ ਰਾਹ। ਹੇਕੋ = ਇਕੋ ਹੀ। ਗੁਰ ਪਉੜੀ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਪਉੜੀ, (ਭਾਵ, ਸਿਮਰਨ)। ਨਿਜ = ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ।

Fareedkot Teeka(ਗਾਈ ਪੁਤ) ਬੈਲਾਂ ਕੋ, ਭਾਵ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਾਣ ਜੋਤ ਲੇਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਨਿਰਧਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ ਕੋ ਮਜੂਰੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਤੀ ਔਰ ਰਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਰਸਤੇ ਮੇਂ ਨਦੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਕਰ ਭੈ ਰਹਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਚਾਕਰ ਕੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਰਖਾ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਹੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਪਰ ਤੋਰ ਦੀਆ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਮੇਂ- ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਕੋ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਕੋ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਾ ਵਿਜੋਗ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਨ ਕੋ? ਸੋ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: (ਗਾਈ ਪੁਤਾ) ਆਲਸੀਓਂ ਔਰ (ਨਿਰਧਨਾ) ਗੁਣ ਹੀਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਔਰ (ਪੰਥੀ) ਪੰਥੋਂ ਕੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀਓਂ ਕੋ ਔਰ (ਚਾਕੁਰੁ) ਜੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਬਲਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਹਲੀਂ ਜੋਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ), ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਨਤਿ-ਮਜੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਕ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ), ਰਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਾਈਪੁਤ = ਬਲਦ। ਪੰਥੀ = ਰਾਹੀ, ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਿਰ। ਚਾਕਰੁ = ਨੌਕਰ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਵਲੁ = ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਆਪ 'ਕਵਲ' ਤੋਂ ਜੰਮਿਆ, ਸੋ, 'ਕਵਲ' ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ'। ਕਵਲੁ ਛਪਾਇਆ = ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ, (ਭਾਵ,) ਅਜੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋਈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਵੈਦ! ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ) ਰੋਗ ਲੱਭ, (ਤਾਂ ਹੀ) ਤੂੰ ਹਕੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਕੀਮ ਹੈਂ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਹਕੀਮ ਹੈਂ) (ਤਾਂ ਹੀ) ਤੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਵੈਦ (ਅਖਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ਹੈਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਸ ਰੋਗ ਦੀ) ਅਜੇਹੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਭਾਲ ਲੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵੰਞੈ = ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ। ਰੋਗਾ ਘਾਣਿ = ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਣੀ, ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਢੇਰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਤੁ ਦਾਰੂ = ਜਿਸ ਦਵਾਈ ਨਾਲ। ਉਠਿਅਹਿ = ਉਡਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ। ਤਨਿ = ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ। ਆਇ = ਆ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਈਸ ਮਹੇਸੁਰ = ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ੧੧ (ਰੁੱਦ੍ਰ) ਅਵਤਾਰ। ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ = ਉਹਨਾਂ ੧੧ ਸ਼ਿਵ-ਅਵਤਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ।
