ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਟਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ = (ਚਰਣ-ਅਰਬਿੰਦ। ਅਰਬਿੰਦ = ਕਉਲ ਫੁੱਲ) ਕਉਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੈਰ। ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਤਮੋ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਤਮੋ ਗੁਣ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦਿਆਂ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ) ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਾਮਸਿ = ਤਮੋਗੁਣੀ ਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ। ਅਹਿ = ਦਿਨ। ਨਿਸਿ = ਰਾਤ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਗਾ ਦੇਗਾ (ਦਖਲ) ਨਹੀਂ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਤਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੋ ਭਾਉਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋਈ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸਮੇਂ ਕਿਸੀ ਸੇ ਕੁਛ ਕਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤਾ। ਭਾਵ ਯਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸ ਕੋ ਦੋਸ ਦੀਜੀਏ॥੧॥☬ਜੇ ਕਹੈ ਅੰਧਪਣਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਜਾਵੇ? ਸੋ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ) ਕੁਝ ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਸੂਝ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਸਵਾਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ = ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਸਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ = ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੁਧਿ = ਸਮਝ, ਸੂਝ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਆ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਰ ਸਭ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਅਧੀਨਤਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥
