ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ; ਨਹ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਭੇਖੰ ॥

khatt darasan bhramate fireh; neh mileeai bhekhan |

Sant Singh KhalsaThe followers of the six orders wander and roam around wearing religious robes, but they do not meet God.
Manmohan SinghRoaming and rambling in six Shashtras, and wearing religious garbs, God is met not.

Prof. Sahib Singhਛੇ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ (ਵਿਅਰਥ) ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ = ਛੇ ਭੇਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ (ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੰਗਮ, ਸਰੇਵੜੇ, ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ, ਬੈਰਾਗੀ, ਬੋਧੀ)।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਈ ਬੰਦੇ) ਚੰਦ੍ਰਾਇਣ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ (ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਾਇਣ ਵਰਤ = ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਰਤ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ) ਲੇਖ ਉੱਘੜ ਪਏ, ਉਹ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਭੀ ਠੀਕ) ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਰਗਿ = ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਵਾਹੂ = ਤੋੜ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਗਡਿ = (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ। ਚਲਾਊ = ਚਲਾ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਥੀਐ = ਹੋਵੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਘੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ (ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਬਿੰਬ) ਹੈ। (ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਭ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ। ਘਟਾਊ = ਘੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹੇਰਿਆ = ਤੱਕਿਆ। ਜਮਦੂਤੀ = ਜਮਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ। ਪਚਾ = ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੇਹ = ਕਾਇਆਂ। ਅੰਧੁ ਅੰਧਾਰੀ = ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀ। ਸੁੰਞੀ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲੋਇਣ = ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ। ਲੋਈ = ਲੋਕ, ਜਗਤ, ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥ। ਪਿਆਸ = ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ। ਮੂ = ਮੇਰੀ। ਘਣੀ = ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀ ਹੋਈ।
