ਧ੍ਰਿਗੰਤ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਨੇਹੰ; ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਸਨੇਹੰ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਬਾਂਧਵਹ ॥

dhrigant maat pitaa sanehan; dhrig sanehan bhraat baandhavah |

Sant Singh KhalsaCursed is loving attachment to one's mother and father; cursed is loving attachment to one's siblings and relatives.
Manmohan SinghWorthless is the love of the mother and father and worthless is the love of the brothers and kinsmen.

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੰ = ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਯੋਗ, ਮਾੜਾ, ਤਿਆਗਣ-ਯੋਗ (घिक्)।ਬਾਂਧਵਹ = ਸਨਬੰਧੀ

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸ੍ਨੇਹੰ = ਪਿਆਰ, ਮੋਹ (स्नेह)। ਗ੍ਰਿਹਾਰ-ਥਕਹ = ਗ੍ਰਿਹ-ਅਰਥਕਾ, ਘਰ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮੇਂ ਜੋ (ਸ੍ਨੇਹ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੈ, ਸੋਈ ਸਤ੍ਯ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਸਤ ਪਦ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਕਾ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜਿਸ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਸੇ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਵ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੂਆ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਸੇ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਸੰਗ ਨਾਲ (ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਪਿਆਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਤਸੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸ੍ਨੇਹੰ = ਪਿਆਰ, ਮੋਹ (स्नेह)। ਸਤ੍ਯ੍ਯਿੰ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ (सत्यं)। ਸੁਖਯੰ = ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ। ਬਸੰਤਿ = ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ (वसन्ति)। ਨਾਨਕਹ = ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ॥੨॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਇਹੁ (ਦੇਹੰ) ਸਰੀਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦਿਨ ਦਿਨ ਮੇਂ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਬਲ ਖੀਣ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਹ) ਸਰੀਰ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦਾ) ਬਲ ਭੀ ਘਟਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਿਥ੍ਯ੍ਯੰ = ਮਿਥਿਆ, ਨਾਸਵੰਤ। ਦੇਹੰ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਖੀਣੰਤ = ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ (क्षीण)।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ) ਆਸਾ ਤੀਬਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਉਂਞ ਜੀਵ ਇਥੇ) ਘਰ ਦੇ ਪਰਾਹੁਣੇ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਤ੍ਯ੍ਯੰਤ = ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ। ਆਥਿਤ੍ਯ੍ਯ = ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ (अतिथि)। ਭਵਨੰ = ਘਰ।

Sant Singh KhalsaThe human body, so difficult to obtain, has fallen into the deep dark pit of emotional attachment. O Nanak, its only support is God, the Essence of Reality.

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਜਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ (ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ)

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਤੰਤਿ = ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੂਪ = ਖੂਹ (कुप)। ਦੁਰਲਭ੍ਯ੍ਯ = ਦੁਰਲੱਭ, ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਤਤ = ਉਸ ਦਾ।

* ਭਾਵ: ਅਜਬ ਖੇਡ ਬਣੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ! ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਭੀ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਦੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਅਸਚਰਜ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਖ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਰਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਕੌਨ ਮਾਰ ਸਕਤਾ ਹੈ? ਸੋ ਦੇਖੋ ਸੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਏਕ ਰੋਮ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੇਦਤੇ ਭਏ ਹੈਂ। ਯਥਾ-☬'ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮਾਰੈ॥'☬ਔ ਦੇਖੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਮਾਰੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਖ੍ਯਕ ਨਹੀਂ॥੬॥☬ਅਬ ਐਸੇ ਜਨਾਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਵਾਹ! ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਾਲ (ਭੀ) ਵਿੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੬॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਹੋ = ਵਾਹ! ਜਸ੍ਯ੍ਯ = ਜਿਸ ਦਾ (यस्य)। ਰਖੇਣ = ਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਰੋਮ = ਵਾਲ। ਨ ਛੇਦ੍ਯ੍ਯਤੇ = ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੬॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਬਣੇ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਲ ਭੀ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।

Fareedkot Teekaਪਰੰਤੂ ਜਬ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਨੇ ਕੀ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੀ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਬ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਕੀੜੀ ਖੈਂਚ ਲੇਤੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਯੇਹ ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਖ੍ਯਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥੭॥☬ਜੈਸੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਛਤ ਕੋ ਰਿਖੀ ਕੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸੇ ਸਰਪ ਕੇ ਡਸਨੇ ਕਾ ਸਰਾਪ ਹੂਆ ਥਾ। ਤਬ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਭੈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਮੇਂ ਮੰਦਰ ਰਚਾ ਜਹਾਂ ਕੀੜੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਇ ਸਕੈ ਔ ਚੁਫੇਰੇ ਪਹਰੇ ਖੜੇ ਕੀਏ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਜਬ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਇਆ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਮਛਰ ਵਾ ਕੀੜੀ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਤਛਕ ਨੇ ਜਾਇ ਕਰ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਡਸ ਕਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀਆ। ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਨੇ ਸੇ ਕੋਈ ਬਚਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੋਈ ਬਚਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤਬ ਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਔਰ ਹਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਪੰਡਤੋਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਛਾ: ਇਸ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮੇਂ ਜੀਵੋਂ ਕੋ ਕੌਨ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈਂ। ਤਿਸ ਪਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਕ ਕੀੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੋਵੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ) ॥੭॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹੋਵੰਤਿ = ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੀਟੀ = ਕੀੜੀ। ਅਕਰਖਤੇ = ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੭॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਪਾਟੀ ਹੋਈ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆ ਬਾਨ੍ਹਣੂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ, ਮਾੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਬਹਾਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚੋਗ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ = ਕਿਸਮ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ। ਬਸਤ੍ਰਾ = ਕਪੜੇ। ਇਤ੍ਯ੍ਯੰਤ = ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ। ਬ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਪਿਤੰ = ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭੋ = ਹੇ! ਭਗਵਾਨਏ = ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ। ਨਮਹ = ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧੧॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਮਾਇਆ ਕਈ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ।

Sant Singh KhalsaIf there is birth, then there is death. If there is pleasure, then there is pain. If there is enjoyment, then there is disease.

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜਿਥੇ) ਜਨਮ ਹੈ (ਉਥੇ) ਮੌਤ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਭੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭੋਗ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਦੇ) ਰੋਗ ਭੀ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਖੰ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ, ਆਨੰਦ (हर्ष)। ਸੋਗੰ = ਚਿੰਤਾ (शोक)।
