Prof. Sahib Singhਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਢਕ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੈਂ ਖਸਮ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ 'ਪਿਆਰ'-ਰੂਪ ਰੇਸ਼ਮੀ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਟੋਲਾ = ਪੱਟ ਦਾ ਕੱਪੜਾ। ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਟੋਲਾ = 'ਪ੍ਰੇਮ' ਦਾ ਰੇਸ਼ਮੀ ਕੱਪੜਾ। ਤੈ ਸਹਿ = ਤੂੰ ਖਸਮ ਨੇ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਜਾਨਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਰੁ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੇ ਕਰਮੋਂ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ (ਸਾਰ) ਖਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਹੂੰ, ਭਾਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਜਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੂੰ ਵਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਤਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਤਾ ਹੂੰ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ (ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ) ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤੀ। ਨਾਨਕ (ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)! ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ) ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਹਰੇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਔਖਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤੈਡੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ = ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ। ਹਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ = ਸਭ ਕੁਝ, ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼। ਕੋਈ ਬਿਖਮੁ = ਕੋਈ ਔਖ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਯੁ = ਪਿਆਰਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ)। ਦਯਿ ਧਿਆਇਐ = ਜੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਪੁ = ਆਪਾ ਭਾਵ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ (ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਦਿਵਾਏ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਹ = ਹੇ ਪਤੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ)! ਤਉ ਚਰਣੀ = ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਹੀਅੜਾ = ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਿਲ। ਸੀਤਮੁ = ਮੈਂ ਸਿਊਂ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਲਹਾ = ਤੁਲ੍ਹਾ, ਲੱਕੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੱਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਗੱਠਾ ਜੋ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਰਿਆ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਓਂ ਕੋ ਜੰਬੂਰ ਕੀ ਭਾਂਤ ਹੈਂ, (ਖਵੇ ਨ ਵੰਞਨਿ) ਸਹਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤੇ ਅਤ੍ਯੰਤ (ਗਾਖੜੇ) ਕਠਨ ਹੈ। (ਜੰਬੂਰ) ਲੁਹਾਰੋਂ ਔਰ ਸੁਨਾਰਿਓਂ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ ਹਥੀਆਰ ਵਿਸੇਸ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵਿਛੋੜੇ (ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ) ਜੰਬੂਰ (ਦੇ ਤਸੀਹਾਂ) ਵਾਂਗ ਔਖੇ ਹਨ, ਸਹਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵਿਛੋਹੇ = ਵਿਛੋੜੇ (ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ)। ਜੰਬੂਰ = ਚਿਮਟੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਇਕ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਏ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਜੰਬੂਰ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਟੀ ਬੋਟੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਿੰਡੇ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਖਵੇ ਨ ਵੰਞਨਿ = ਸਹਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਗਾਖੜੇ = ਔਖੇ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜੇਕਰ ਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਆਪਨੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਕੋ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਇ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਬ (ਸਚੁ) ਨਿਸਚੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੋਂ ਕਾ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਉਸ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਇ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਾਲਕ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਣ ਤਾਂ ਯਕੀਨਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
