ਸਿਰਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਸਮਰਥੁ; ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ॥੧੭॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਦ = ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਸਤੀ। ਦੁਸਟ = ਭੈੜੀਆਂ। ਨਿਵਾਰਿ = ਦੂਰ ਕਰ।

ਖਾਂਦਿਆ ਖਾਂਦਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਘਠਾ; ਪੈਨੰਦਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਅੰਗੁ ॥

khaandiaa khaandiaa muhu ghatthaa; painandiaa sabh ang |

Sant Singh KhalsaBy eating and eating, the mouth is worn out; by wearing clothes, the limbs grow weary.

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਠਾ = ਘਸ ਗਿਆ। ਸਭੁ ਅੰਗੁ = ਸਾਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ = ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਯੋਗ। ਸਚਿ = ਸੱਚ ਵਿਚ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ। ਰੰਗੁ = ਪਿਆਰ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਦਿ = ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ। ਮਧਿ = ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਸਮੇ। ਅੰਤਿ = ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ। ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅਰੁ ਅੰਤਿ = ਭਾਵ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ = ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਝੱਟ-ਪੱਟ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵੀ ਟਿਕਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਤਾ (ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਿੱਤੀ)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ), ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
