ਕੀਰਤਨੰ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇਣ ਨਾਨਕ; ਨਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੰਤਿ. ਜਮਦੂਤਨਹ ॥੩੪॥

keeratanan saadhasangen naanak; neh drisattant. jamadootanah |34|

Sant Singh Khalsaand sings the Kirtan of His Praises in the Saadh Sangat, O Nanak, shall never see the Messenger of Death. ||34||
Manmohan Singhand, associating with the saints, sings God's praise, he does not countenance myrimidons of death, O Nanak.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਤੇ ਫਰੇਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!
Fareedkot Teekaਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਂ ਜਾਇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇ ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਿਸ ਜਨ ਕੋ ਯਮ ਕੇ ਦੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਯੇਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾ ਭੈ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥੩੪॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਲ ਤੱਕ (ਭੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੇ) ॥੩੪॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਮਦੂਤਨਹ = ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ॥੩੪॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕ ਸਕਦੇ।

nach duralabhan dhanan roopan; nach duralabhan svarag raajanah |

Sant Singh KhalsaWealth and beauty are not so difficult to obtain. Paradise and royal power are not so difficult to obtain.
Manmohan SinghNot difficult to obtain are wealth and beauty. Nor is it difficult to obtain the sovereignty of paradise.

Prof. Sahib Singhਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਪ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਗ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ।

Fareedkot Teeka(ਬਿੰਜਨੰ) ਮਿਸਟ, ਸਲਵਣਾਦੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਰਸੋਂ ਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਣੇ ਭੀ ਦੁਰਲਭ (ਨਚ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਔਰ (ਸ੍ਵਛ) ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਸਤ੍ਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਪਹਿਰਨਾ ਭੀ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਮਸਾਲੇਦਾਰ ਖਾਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨੇ ਔਖੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿੰਜਨੰ = ਖਾਣ-ਯੋਗ ਸੁਆਦਲਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਸਾਲੇਦਾਰ ਭਾਜੀ ਆਦਿਕ (व्यंजनं)।ਸ੍ਵਛ = ਸਾਫ਼ (स्वच्छ)।ਅੰਬਰਹ = ਕਪੜੇ (अम्बरं)।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਭਰਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਡ-ਪਿਆਰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਨਿਤਾ = ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (वनिता)।ਬਿਲਾਸਹ = ਲਾਡ-ਪਿਆਰ (विलास)।

Fareedkot Teekaਵਿਦ੍ਯਾ ਮੇਂ (ਪ੍ਰਬੀਣੰ) ਚਤਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਭੀ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਪੁਨਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਔ ਬੁਧੀ ਕਰ ਚਤਰ ਹੋਣਾ, (ਔਰ) ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰ ਚੰਚਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੋ ਭੀ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਵਿਦਿਆ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਬਣਨਾ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ (ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਚਾਲਾਕ ਤੇ ਤੀਖਣ-ਬੁੱਧ ਹੋਣਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਣੰ = ਸਿਆਣਾ, ਚਤੁਰ (प्रवीण)

SikhNet (Spanish)tampoco astucias y formas para engañar. Sólo el Naam, el Nombre del Señor, cuesta mucho obtener, pues, oh, dice Nanak;

ਦੁਰਲਭੰ ਏਕ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨਾਮਹ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਲਬਧੵਿੰ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥੩੫॥

duralabhan ek bhagavaan naamah; naanak. labadhayin saadhasang. kripaa prabhan |35|

Sant Singh KhalsaOnly the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is difficult to obtain. O Nanak, it is only obtained by God's Grace, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||35||
Manmohan SinghBut difficult to obtain is only the Lord's Name, O Nanak, It is obtained by the Lord's grace in the saints' society.

Prof. Sahib Singhਹਾਂ! ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੇਵਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਤਦੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੩੫॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ = ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ॥੩੫॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮਿਲਣੇ ਔਖੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਤੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚੋਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ।

jat katah tatah drisattan; svarag marat. payaal lokah |

Sant Singh KhalsaWherever I look, I see the Lord, whether in this world, in paradise, or the nether regions of the underworld.
Manmohan SinghWherever I see, whether in elysium, on this mortal world or in the under-word, there I see my Lord.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਇਸ ਫਾਨੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਉਤੇ ਯਾ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਔ (ਮਰਤ) ਮਾਤ ਲੋਕ, ਪ੍ਰਿਥ੍ਵੀ ਪੁਨਾ ਪਤਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਜਹਾਂ ਕਹਾਂ (ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੰ) ਦੇਖਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਗ, ਮਾਤਲੋਕ, ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲੋਕ-ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਤ ਕਤਹ = ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ। ਤਤਹ = ਉਥੇ। ਜਤ ਕਤਹ ਤਤਹ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ। ਮਰਤ = (र्मत्त) ਮਾਤਲੋਕ, ਧਰਤੀ। ਪਯਾਲ = ਪਤਾਲ।

SikhNet (Spanish)Donde sea que veo, en este mundo, en el Paraíso o en el bajo mundo, ahí veo al Señor.

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ ਗਬਿੰਦ ਸਰਬ ਮੇਂ (ਰਮਣੰ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਸੇ ਤਿਸੀ ਕੋ ਦੇਖਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਇਸੀ ਤੇ ਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ (ਲੇਪ) ਸੰਗ ਰੂਪੀ (ਛੇਪ) ਕਲੰਕ ਸੇ ਲਿਪਾਇਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥੩੬॥☬ਅੰਤਕੀ ਤੁਕ ਕਾ ਆਦੋਂ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਨਾ: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜਬ ਹਰੀ ਔ ਹਰੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਹੋਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜੋ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਕ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੋਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿੱਬੜਦਾ ॥੩੬॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਮਣੰ = ਵਿਆਪਕ। ਛੇਪ = (क्षेप) ਕਲੇਸ਼, ਨਿੰਦਾ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ; ਵਿਕਾਰ। ਲਿਪ੍ਯ੍ਯਤੇ = ਲਿਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਲੇਪ = ਪੋਚਾ, ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ॥੩੬॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੋਖੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਖਯਾ = ਵਿਹੁ, ਜ਼ਹਿਰ। ਭਯੰਤਿ = ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (भवषि, भवतः, भवन्ति)। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੰ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਮਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਦ੍ਰੁਸਟਾਂ = ਦ੍ਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਖਾ = ਮਿਤ੍ਰ। ਸ੍ਵਜਨਹ = ਸ੍ਵ-ਜਨਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਦਮੀ, ਕਰੀਬੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਥਾਨ ਬਿਹੂਨ = ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ = ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ॥੩੭॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੀ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ-ਸਹਿਮ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।

* ਭਾਵ: ਅਸਲੀ ਸਾਧ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ, ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।

* ਭਾਵ: ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਹਿਮ ਭੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਬਾਉ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

* ਭਾਵ: ਮਾਇਆ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਧਾਨ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ (निधानं)। ਜਾਚੰਤ = ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ (याचन्ति)। ਜਾਚਕਹਿ = ਮੰਗਤੇ (याचका:) ॥੪੩॥

* ਭਾਵ: ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦੇਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਰਸਤੇ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਖਰ੍ਹਵੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ) ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਚੁਗ਼ਲ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭੇਦ = (भिद्) to pierce = ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਣਾ)। ਭਰਮੰ = (भ्रम) ਭਟਕਣਾ, ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਰਸਤਾ। ਸਾਕਤ = ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪਿਸਨੰ = (ਪਿਸ਼ੁਨ) ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਪਾੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ), ਚੁਗ਼ਲ (पिशुन:)।
