Prof. Sahib Singhਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ (ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਵਾਸ ਹੈ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਕੋਈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਧਨੀ ਹਨ) ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੋਵੈ ਤਰਫਾ = (ਵੇਖੋ ਪਉੜੀ ਨੰ: ੬, ੭, ੮, ੯) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪਾਸੇ। ਵਿਚਿ = (ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਵਿਚ। ਸਕਤਿ = ਮਾਇਆ। ਸਿਵ = ਆਤਮਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ (ਰੱਬ) ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ = ਗਿਰਾਹੀ। ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ = (ਭਾਵ,) ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਪੀਂਦਿਆਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ = ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ। ਪੂਜੀਆ = ਪੂਜਿਆ ਜਾਵਾਂ। ਚਜਿ = ਚੱਜ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਆਚਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ। ਵੀਚਾਰਿ = (ਚੰਗੀ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ।

Sant Singh Khalsalet me not forget the Word of Truth, that no one can touch my sacred cooking square.

Fareedkot Teekaਅਰ ਅਚਾਰੀ ਐਸਾ ਹੋਵਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੌਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਛੁਹੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਪੂਰਬ ਬਾਤੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਲਗ ਕੇ ਸਚਾ ਜੋ ਅਬਨਾਸੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈ ਵਹੁ (ਮਤੁ) ਜੇ ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੂਆ ਕਰਮ ਭੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਇ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੜੀ ਸੁੱਚ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਕਿ) ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ (ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ) ਚੌਂਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਿੱਟ ਨ ਜਾਏ (ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਹੈ। (ਧਿਆਨ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕਿਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਭੁੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਜਾਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਤੁ ਭੁਲਿ ਜਾਇ = ਕਿਤੇ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਜਾਏ। ਭਿਟੈ = ਛੁਹ ਜਾਏ। ਸਚਾ ਅਖਰੁ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ। ਚਉਕੈ = ਚੌਕੇ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਰੇ ਚੌਂਕੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹਨ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਫਰਿਓ = ਅਮੋੜ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨ ਪਾ ਸਕੇ। ਲੂਝੈ = ਝਗੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੋ ਜੀਵ-) ਭੌਰਾ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਲਗਉ = ਅਲੱਗ, ਨਿਰਲੇਪ। ਜੋਇ = ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਧੂਕੜਉ = ਮਧੂਕਰ, ਭੌਰਾ {ਨੋਟ: 'ਮਧੂਕੜਉ' ਦਾ ਅਰਥ 'ਮਧੂਕੜੀ, ਥਾਂ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਟੁੱਕਰ' ਕਰਨਾ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ; 'ਭੌਰੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਥਾਂ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਰ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ' = ਇਸ ਅਰਥ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ 'ਮੰਗ ਖਾਣ' ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ; ਪਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੰਗਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੋਲਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਏਥੇ 'ਭਉਰੇ' ਦਾ 'ਨਿਰਲੇਪਤਾ' ਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਹੀ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸ਼ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ 'ਦਿਲੁ ਦਰਵਾਨੀ' ਹੈ}।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ (ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੰਠਿ = ਗਲ ਨਾਲ, ਗਲ ਵਿਚ। ਹੀਰਾ = ਆਤਮਾ। ਸਾਰੰਗਪਾਣਿ = ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਧਨੁਖ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ। ਸਬਾਇ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਰਬੇ = ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ। ਜੋਇ = ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ {ਪਉੜੀ ਨੰ: ੧੨ ਤੇ ੧੪ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜੋਇ' ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਾਣੀ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ 'ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ'}। ਅਗਛਮੀ = ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ। ਆਥਿ = ਹੈ।
