Sant Singh KhalsaNanak has made the Lord's Name his wealth, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru. ||2||
Manmohan SinghBy the grace of the perfect Guru Nanak has made God's Name his wealth.

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਲਾਲਚ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਖਸਮ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੱਬ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧੋਹੁ = ਠੱਗੀ, ਧੋਖਾ। ਲਬਿ = ਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ। ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ (ਪੈ ਕੇ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਲੇਰਿਆ = ਭੈੜੇ, ਮੰਦੇ। ਮਦਿ = ਮਦ ਵਿਚ, ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ। ਮੁਤੇ = (ਨਿਖਸਮੇ) ਛੱਡੇ ਹੋਏ।

Fareedkot Teekaਅਪਨੇ ਕੀਏ ਹੂਏ ਕਰਮ ਕਾ ਫਲ੍ਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਦੁਖੋਂ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ (ਜੁਤੈ) ਜੁੜੇ ਹੈਂ, ਭਾਵ ਯੇਹਿ ਕਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੋਂ ਕਾ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਰਹਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਆਪਣੇ (ਮੰਦੇ) ਕੀਤੇ (ਕੰਮਾਂ) ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੱਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਇਨਿ = ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੁਤੇ = ਜੁੱਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ (ਜੀਵ ਲਈ) ਸਾਰੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਮੰਦੀ ਹੀ ਜਾਣੋ ॥੧੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਇ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਐ = (ਪੂਰਬ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਰਦੰਤਕ) ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਏ। ਰੁਤੇ = ਰੁਤਿ, ਸਮਾ ॥੧੨॥

* ਨੋਟ: ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਗੂਜਰੀ ਰਾਗ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਪਉੜੀ ਨੰ: ੨੦ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਪਉੜੀ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਅੱਗੜ ਪਿੱਛੜ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਜਾਪਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਲੋਕ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਮਿ = (ਅਧਿਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਕ, ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ)। ਨਾਮਿ ਸਲਾਹਿਐ = (ਪੂਰਬ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਰਦੰਤਕ) ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਜਾਏ, ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਏ। ਸੀਤਲੁ = ਠੰਢਾ ॥੧॥

ਲਾਲਚਿ ਅਟਿਆ. ਨਿਤ ਫਿਰੈ; ਸੁਆਰਥੁ. ਕਰੇ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

Sant Singh KhalsaFilled with greed, he constantly wanders around; he does not do any good deeds.

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਲਾਲਚ ਨਾਲ ਲਿੱਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਦਾ (ਭਟਕਦਾ) ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਭਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲਾਲਚਿ = ਲਾਲਚ ਨਾਲ। ਅਟਿਆ = ਲਿੱਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸੁਆਰਥੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਭਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ। ਕੋਇ = ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ।

Fareedkot Teekaਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਨੇ ਐਸਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਬਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਸੁਆਸ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਸੁ = ਸੁਆਸ, ਸਾਹ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ("ਦੁਤੀਆ ਭਾਵ" ਵਲੋਂ) ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੫॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੰਠਿ = ਗਲ ਨਾਲ। ਜਨ = ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ। ਬਲਿ ਜਾਸੁ = ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੫॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ। ਮੀਹੁ = ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ। ਵੁਠਾ = ਵੱਸਿਆ, (ਮੀਂਹ) ਪਿਆ। ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ = ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਰੂਪ ਧਰਤੀ। ਅੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ = (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਅੰਨ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਲਈ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਰੂਪ ਅੰਨ। ਤਿਪਤਿ ਆਘਾਇ ਰਜੀ = ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਜ ਗਈ।
